Our Baby Bubble Captured - Newborn Photoshoot
How we went from a family of 2 to 4 in the same week
We have been waiting for you both for so long…
Firstly welcome to the world Marigold Louise Disco Roberts “Goldie”, after many months of you dancing around in my tummy, building your nursery and imagining what you’d look like it’s so nice to finally meet you! I’ve lost count of how many hours Al and I have spent staring at her in amazement and asking each other - how did we make such a perfect tiny human?
Two days after Goldie arrived, Edwina, our beautiful pup joined the family. Edwina is a Mini Groodle; Golden Retriever mum crossed with a white Mini Poodle dad. We’d put our name down on a list well over a year ago after falling madly in love with our neighbour’s dog Ruby (who you may have seen modelling in many of our furniture shoots).
Of course we received an email saying “your puppy has been born and due to be picked up on the 6th of May”… 2 days after our baby's due date. Our instant thoughts were “this is terrible timing, how are we going to manage both?”, we slept on it and woke up in the morning and just knew we had to have her as part of our family. We let the breeder know that we would have a small baby in the house and they set aside the pup in the litter with the calmest temperament.
Marigold was born on Tuesday, came home on Wednesday, Al picked Edwina up early on Thursday morning and the two have been inseparable since. Edwina is so gentle and sweet with her little sister and we can already tell these two are going to have an unbelievably special bond.
We invited Geelong based photographer Michelle Mckay into our home when Goldie was 10 days old. Michelle followed us around the house, casually capturing moments of our new morning routine. Michelle was a dream to work with and it’s safe to say that we will treasure these beautiful memories for a lifetime.
It’s now been 3 weeks since the birth and we’re settling into our new life and figuring out how that looks now with a baby, a new pup and a business to run. Usually i’d be writing this blog on my desktop in the office but right now I am sitting in bed at 3pm with my laptop. Edwina is sitting across my legs, Goldie in her bassinet with the baby monitor by my side as I watch her eyes open and close not sure whether she’s trying to go to sleep or wake up.
For now, we are in baby / puppy bliss and cannot wait to share our adventures as a family of four as they unfold.

Both Al and I love timber and we love to cook, so when it came to designing and building our kitchen we wanted to create a functional space and felt beautiful to be in. The kitchen has become the heart of our home, with our island bench the place we all gather around.
In the heart of our home lies a space where functionality seamlessly intertwines with style – our compact European laundry. Today, we're excited to share the design details and thoughtful choices we made to create this space.
