The Process Of Selecting Curtains and Blinds For Our Build
We're currently enjoying our beautiful new home in Torquay on the surf coast, and we decided to go with Champion Blinds for all our blinds and curtains. What drew us to them was the fact that they have a local showroom right here in Torquay.
As someone who appreciates tactile experiences, I loved being able to touch and feel the fabrics and materials in person. Additionally, I was initially unsure about smart-home automation and motorised features, but visiting the showroom completely changed my perspective. Learning how we could integrate these technologies into our home was a real eye-opener. Now that everything is set up, I absolutely love the convenience of being able to open and close our blinds with just a click, and setting them to operate automatically at specific times of the day has been incredibly handy, especially with kids.

For instance, they helped us customise the ceiling tracks in our living room, which turned out to be incredibly easy—they just needed a few measurements and took care of the rest. Craig, from the Champion Blinds team, even left us a sample piece for Al to measure off to build the custom timber rail to ensure the placement of the tracks was perfect.
From selecting the right fabrics to the final installation, Champion Blinds made the entire process seamless. Their hands-on approach and availability at every stage of the build made a significant difference. They were there to guide us through decision-making, which made such a difference, especially when it came to investing in something as important as window treatments.
The decision to go with professionals like Champion Blinds was a wise one.. While we enjoy DIY projects, entrusting our window treatments to experts ensured a polished finish and hassle-free installation. Choosing a local company over an online shop added an extra layer of assurance and convenience. Being able to visit their showroom and benefit from face-to-face interactions made the whole experience more personal and tailored to our needs.
The blinds have truly transformed our space, adding a softness that was missing among all the hard surfaces in our home.
