Designing and Building Our Practical and Functional European Laundry
In the heart of our home lies a space where functionality seamlessly intertwines with style – our compact European laundry. In this post we're excited to share the intricate design details and thoughtful choices that make this space.
At the core of our laundry's functionality is the stacked washer and heat pump dryer by Haier. Compact yet powerful, these appliances not only save space but are energy-efficient.
One of the standout features of our European laundry is the microcement splashback. Its sleek and modern appearance adds a touch of sophistication while also providing durability and ease of maintenance. We built our joinery out of Tasmanian Oak Veneer with solid Tasmanian Oak hardwood benchtops. We opted for a black arqstone sink and chose the Faucet Strommen tap in Raw Brushed Brass, designed and made right here in Australia. Its impeccable design and quality craftsmanship perfectly complement the overall aesthetic of our space. All of our laundry fixtures were selected through local showroom Geelong Tile and Bath.
To maximise space and maintain a seamless look, Al built custom doors using the TouchWood Timber veneer sheets by Britton Timbers. These beautifully crafted doors not only conceal our laundry but also add warmth and texture to the hallway.
We incorporated the Häfele Slido Bi-fold hinge system to ensure smooth operation and space efficiency. These hinges allow our doors to fold effortlessly, providing easy access to the laundry area without compromising on style.
For the drawers under the bench, we chose Häfele soft-close drawer runners, adding a touch of practicality to our space. No more slamming drawers – just smooth, silent operation every time.
